  • WHAT IS REFORMER PILATES?

    Reformer Pilates is a form of Pilates that uses a specialised machine is called a reformer. It consists of a sliding carriage, springs along with various attachments to provide resistance and support along with a range of exercises. Along with this accessories such as weights, a ball and hoop can also be used.

  • WHO CAN DO REFORMER PILATES?

    We welcome everyone! We would recommend classes to 16 years and above. It's suitable for all fitness levels and we will ensure you are given our personal attention to give you the best possible start if you are new to reformer.

  • WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF REFORMER PILATES?

    There are so many benefits which will be different for us all. Personally it's provided me with an escape and allowed me to switch off every time I have attended a class. Classes provide improved strength, improved flexibility, improved balance, better posture and core stability.

  • HOW LONG IS THE CLASS?

    Each class lasts 45 minutes, we recommend you are at your reformer ready to start a few minutes before your class is due to start. Your class will include a warm up, full body workout and a cool down.

  • HOW OFTEN SHOULD I DO REFORMER PILATES?

    For optimal results, we recommend 2 - 3 times a week. However if you can even manage one class a week you will feel a benefit from this.

  • WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO REFORMER CLASSES?

    We want you to be comfortable. Grip socks are mandatory. These allow you to keep safe and perform all exercises effectively. If you don't have any you can buy them from the studio.

    We suggest leggings and clothing that gives you full range of motion. Try to avoid loose clothing that could get caught in the reformer. If you have gorgeous long locks it's recommended it's tied back.

  • DO I NEED ANY EQUIPMENT?

    Apart from your socks and a drink just bring your beautiful self.

  • IS REFORMER GOOD FOR WEIGHT LOSS?

    Reformer classes is not a cardio workout but you are put your through your paces. It can contribute to weight loss by building lean muscle which supports your metabolism.

    Combining any exercise with a healthy diet will enhance weight loss if this is your goal.

  • CAN REFORMER HELP WITH BACK PAIN?

    Yes! Reformer can be effective in alleviating back pain by strengthening the core muscles and improving posture. It's recommended however that you consult with a medical professional before starting any new exercise program.

  • I'M PREGNANT, CAN I JOIN THE CLASS?

    If you are expecting, congratulations! Please ensure you notify your instructor about your pregnancy and if there is anything we should be aware of. Modifications will be made however it is your own responsibility to assess your own physical condition and limitations that may pose a risk to you and baby.  Read our pregnancy clause here.
